CT, I notice your lady friend has gotten rid of her confederate naval uniform. I guess with the war being over she headed out west. Nice job as always.

well, done. I forgot the scale. Coffin measures 6 foot long by 2.5 feet wide. So, if any one is good at math who builds this let me know!

Most morticians would have been Doctors, Barbers(Dentists) or woodworkers (furniture makers). Extra work means more money in hard times. And since the business of death was probably more lucrative in those times many would eventually grow into the career of "mortician" or "undertaker". Corey...you might consider making the building a Doctor's office or Furniture store?

The main street undertaker's building reminds me of the man with no name ordering "three, no make that four" coffins at the start of Yojimbo / A Fist Full of Dollars.

I built the Undertakers Building this summer as part of a western town which I hope to use as terrain in a cowboy game.
The front door on the Undertakers Building is 25mm and the door on the White Wash City Imperial Saloon is 30mm. Future White Wash City buildings will be reduced in size so that the difference is not so obvious. Most of the Undertakers Building was printed on 110 Lb cardstock. Because the porch roof is designed with thickness, it is necessary to make two parallel folds only 2mm apart which run the length of the side overhang. I could not do it. The porch roof overhang was printed again on 32 LB cardstock making it possible to make the two parallel folds and the edge folds. Instead of trying to fold porch supports, I substituted square toothpicks. I also used a stove pipe from White Wash City and put it on the Undertakers Building. The Undertakers Building is a wonderful addition to my western town. Thank you Corey. |
