This model kit containing both the Tuscaloosa and the Huntsville (with options) will be available as soon as Chris get to it (he is extremely busy posting new models at Ecardmodels.com) and the price will be $4.00. Thanks to all

OK, now Greg did the Huntsville as well! Here are some shots of the Tuscaloosa, Huntsville and Palmetto state all in the same scale, 1/250.

The Palmetto State is a free download over at Ecardmodels.com and the Huntville comes in the same download as the Tuscaloosa.

Great job Greg, thanks!

Because of their handy size, I plan of up scaling these to 1/72 scale full hull kits, if I ever get the Palmetto State done!

I know it's a little late, but I'm building the Tuscaloosa and I noticed that the stern skirts are too short. I hate to say that CT has short skirts, but I will. CT, it looks like your beta builders patched up the hole, which is what I will do also. Just thought you should know so you can fix the source document.

After a surprise attack by a damn Yankee cat, another ironclad joins the fleet defending the hobby room. I really like the smaller anchors presented in this kit. I used the aft boat dock not used by the previous builders. I cut out the grates and used a flag from CT's flag sheet available in the download section. I added railing, but I think I made them too tall for this scale. Only problem with the kit is the aft skirts being too short. It's easier to fix this problem prior to installing the skirts. I used short sections cut from the "cut-away" casemate that's included in this model.

Cool! That looks really good. I hope to have another model ready for a test build soon,

I've completed the CSS Huntsville (or is it the CSS Tuscaloosa?). This model is lighter colored than the first, and is missing a hatch on the Hurricane Deck. I added some weathering to darken the armor slightly, and added a spar torpedo. I made some ladders from string and left the hatches on the Hurricane Deck open. No problems with the model (except for the short aft skirting), but I think the aft deck looks kinda empty so I may add some stuff to it later.
