I have an F-86D repaint started that I need to get done. Hmmm. I picked up the XV-15 black & white as well. Maybe I can play in this round as well.
I almost laughed my head off.

I'm not good at vectoring graphics either. I tried vectoring some in once, but we both got lost.

As I just picked up the B&W B-25 for personal vectoring and recoloring, I may use this as motivation to get it done faster.

As for vectoring, I'm sure there are probably different schools of thought. For me, I import into Inkscape, then simply use the vector tools there to trace over the raster lines. Symmetrical parts were a problem for a while, until I learned to do one half, then duplicate and mirror image the part, then move over to the other side, combine the two, and add line segments to join the two halves as needed. It was a learning curve, but now it is simply more tedious than difficult.

Shading and such is where I would struggle - Inkscape can do various shading and raster effects, but I have not dived too deep into them yet.

Where do we post entries for this contest? Here or at Murph's web site? If here, should we start a new thread for entries or just run with this thread? I have a few days off and may get around to finalizing some of my repaints.

Let's run with this thread. I want this to be a green contest, so we don't want to waste electrons.

I've added another b&w model to the repainters nook for those who want to enter the contest.

I guess I will kick off this contest. Here's Murph's ATR 72 in Air New Zealand colours. Don't forget, propellers rotate in the opposite direction south of the equator. I added vents in the landing gear bay, added additional panels to the fuselage, detailed out the cargo door, and added vortex generators to the wings.

One change to the contest. Due to a strike at work, I'm not working. So I'm gonna put out models as soon as I get them until the strike is over. I'll figure out the prizes when we get there, but site credit will be involved.

One question, can I use the bw Tristar 500 for my recolour entry? I haven't bought it yet, but it seems like my love to the Tristar is gonna make me buy it really soon...

That would be why I released it.

If it's in the repainter's nook, it can be entered in the contest. I'm working on making more B&W's to add to the nook.
