FG model contest

I thought with all the buzz about Fiddlersgreen going on, we might have a contest building FG Models. I'm lousy at organizing, so I'll let somebody else do it.

What I was thinking:

-Since FG models are relatively simple, the contest can be more about customizing than about actually building the model. Who can make you do a doubletake and say "That's an FG model?!?"

-Current builds only. You have to start with a new printout and finish with a new model

-Braille-scalers welcome

-Dioramas get extra points

We can iron out how long the contest will run and any prizes as we go

By current builds, I assume that I am not allowed to enter something that I made a few years ago.

Or even better (for Chip and FG), purchase a new model, print, start. :D

I personally think the competition is a great idea. Who wants to set some ground rules?

<cmags> I second that. I think that is great! How bout a few more rules? Um...lemme see.... It can't be a model you've tried before (might be a little stiff) You have to buy it new (direct from FG)

With unlimited customization allowed, the answer to the question "That's a FG model?" becomes "......well, kinda...." I'm not opposed to the idea....just the opposite. Maybe the appropriate name for the event would be the 'Silk Purse Contest.'

Darwin, we could limit the customization to addons. Would you agree to that as long as the airframe remained the same?
