The Library work in progress

The Library is my next project. This is a big model standing 13" tall (not including the chimneys) and sits on a 6" x 6" ground piece. Lots of fun optional gribblies (steps, dormers, balcony, chimney). My white paper test model went together pretty smoothly. I've finished writing up the instructions booklet and I'm moving right along with texturing.

What sort of textures do you want to see on this one?

Field stones, vertical wooden boards, horizontal wooden boards, wattle and daub or plaster with nice thick wood beams, granite or limestone blocks for the exterior walls. Various tiles for the roof.

How about just for S&Gs you throw in a crane's nest for the roof?

The way you combine a stone lower level with a plaster upper level in some of the choices for textures is good . Field stones and granite or limestone blocks would look good below the plaster. A whole building made of granite or limestone blocks would be impressive, especially for a library.

This is really looking great and I'm glad you shared it with us.

I can imagine quite a few textures that might look great (at least in my mind!). A creepy ghoulsish (Munster or Addams Family come to mind), an old ghost town weathered look, a Victorian look (my wife would LOVE that), an urban grafittied look would be fun.

Whatever you do, I'm sure it will be fantastic!

Best Regards,
