I think we talked about this once.
I'm not familiar with A3 size at the moment, but imagine 1/24 scale (thats 200% enlargement) having more than a 60" wingspan. It would need a big shelf.

A3 is double A4, 11.69 inches by 16.58 inches
similar to the Standard size Ledger, 11x17 If you were to do a proper 200% enlargement of any kit, the sheet you are printing on, needs to be 4 time bigger, so an 8.5x11 would have to be 17x22 when printing on a ledger size sheet, the model only gets enlarged some 40%(i remember a discussion on this, and that where this number comes from, but i might be a bit foggy on it) So in order to print 17x22 you would need to have a wide format roll printer, or a desktop printer that can handle 17 inch wide paper Rick

I can print up to 6ft across (unlimited length), hows that for scale up?
I think a bigger problem is the thickness of the materials. Formers would become inches thick... or many additional formers would need to be added. Even the wing and fuselage "skins" would need to be considerably thicker or many more formers would need to be added...kind of like a real aircraft.

Considering the fact that I am English, its surprising how few RAF models I have created!
I think I have two Mustangs and two Spits, but thats about it. One reason is because when I started this I was only looking at colourful and/or unique paint schemes, and the RAF planes tend to be all very similar. Its the US that gave us all the pretty noseart and odd looking Assembly Planes. And its other countries that use brighter and more distinct colours on their aircraft. I think an RAF Herc is in order...especially since I have the Canadian versions. Added to the list!
