Thanks Swamp
... Bud Granley's Golden Hawk [Bud Granley Family Airshows) With Bud Granley's permission, I have recreated his aerobatic Texan. Bud used to be an RCAF pilot, and has painted his Texan in the RCAF Golden Hawks Aerobatic Team paintscheme. This is a fantasy paint job...the Golden Hawks never flew Harvards or Texans. But its still a great tribute to the RCAF and the Golden Hawks. Little bit of a hold up getting this model completed... I needed to redesign the rear Cockpit Canopy part. Its always been a frustrating piece...and although the paper part can be nicely formed (with patience) into the curved, bubbled window it should be, its quite another matter when you try to install some clear acetate to make a clear canopy. Anyway, with Mike Dixon's input, I have created a new part that is extremely easier to install. Yes, it does lose the bubble curve of the actual canopy, but I think its a an okay tradeoff. The part looks pretty good, installs a heck of a lot easier and allows for a simple no seam clear modification. [I will be updating all my Texan kits with this new Canopy part.]

TEXAN UPDATES
........................................... X-151 and N7095C Just posted that newly updated versions of these two kits are available to all who may have purchased the kits already. I have been tweaking and modifying things in later models, mainly the Instruction diagrams, but I have also recently designed a new (rear) part for the Canopy. It fits better and is easier to work with! So, I have applied these updates to my first two releases and updated the models with new versions. Don't forget to go and download the updated versions! .......... Bud Granley's Golden Hawk and Korean Mosquito Squadron Texan have both been sent to the store for release. Watch for them in the coming days. ..................... Currently working on some "yellow" birds! Thought I might get them out of the way (before others) since I can quickly create a few versions once I have the basic yellow template made. First up will be a Maryland Air National Guard 104th Squadron and also a USAF version. I'm also thinking of adding a yellow Israeli version. Watch for those in the coming weeks.

Dave -
I am delighted to see the Maryland ANG (104th Fighter Squadron) Texan. It looks terrific and I look forward to building it. Among the vast range of Texans and Harvards at that site, the Swedish bird sure looks pretty -- I wonder what Leif could do with a 1/16 scale version? Don |

Clave does some great stuff, on one website http://felixdk.websitetoolbox.com/ he has a Fantasy thread where he basically does schemes that really are "flights of fantasies" . I mean Star Wars X-wing in USN colors............... stuff like that. AFA another Texan color, I again lean towards the yellow Navy birds......... but that's just me. |

Tuskeegee AT-6
Just came across this link
THE AIRCRAFT It appears from this article that there are 2 known AT-6's that were used for training of the Tuskegee airmen. Also found this pict of one of them that was recently restored..... I have no idea if either of these claims is accurate. Don't know if your still looking for more suggestions. SFX |
