speaking of Texans...

anyone know anything about this model?
(attached image)

I saw it on eBay as part of a large lot of models for sale.
I would actually consider buying the lot, if it wasn't for the
high added shipping cost (to Canada).

Anyway, I am really curious about this kit...I didn't know there
was any Texan kits out there.

On the model there is :Copyright Jim Adams 1988 , promotion models po box 203 FRASER , MI 48026 USA.

By the way , I am building one of your T6 in my post Korean war aviation at 1/200 scale.
It is a very good model!

Howzit Dave

Would you consider doing a SAAF repaint of the T-6 Texan/Harvard?

I need some photos of the actual planes (and whatever info you can find).
Vintage stuff as opposed to current recreations.

Email me whatever you can collect
and I will get one done!

No rush though...I have a few projects at the moment.

Pretty awesome...
a member of my CutandFold Forum, Angel, just posted that he entered
his recent build of the Spanish AF Texan in the 3rd annual Static Model
Contest "Ciudad de Leganés" in Madrid (Spain).

Looks like he earned a Bronze Award for his efforts!!
Congrats Angel!

For more photos you can check out his post on the Spanish Modelers
Forum

Can I ask for some help...from anyone who can...I'm trying to finish up another Texan kit and I have run into a problem.

I got a request for a Texan in the livery of the Paraguay Air Force Aerobatic team
Escuadrilla Ara Sunu which flew back in the 1970s. There are a few B/W photos around but nothing with great detail or colour.

My problem is the large emblem on the side of the cockpits.
I just can't make out the details of the badge, and I don't know the colours
and I can't find any other reference for it.
And I can't figure out why the emblem is much larger than the stripe?
It doesn't match properly...as if it was an afterthought or a replacement badge.

Somebody has created a reproduction aircraft (using an old Brazillian AT6) which was stored at the Asuncion Airport (in Paraguay)
...I have some photos of it, but it is a very sloppy paint job and a little bit different.
The emblem on the sides is roughly handpainted and doesn't match the old emblem in any way.
To me, it looks like someone just created a badge out of their head to represent the Ara Sunu.

With no luck finding any other reference...
and no other photos of the original emblem,
I decided to go ahead and try to create the logo myself.

And this is what I got...

The notes on the photos are for someone else I sent these photos to.

Does this logo look right? Do you see anything that doesn't?
The roundel in the center makes no sense to me and the colours are confusing.
It doesn't match the Paraguay Air Force roundel (which is shown below).

Any better ideas?
Or, any recommendation as to which logo I should use?

It looks like they changed emblems in there, too, which makes things difficult.
Not helpful for the emblem, but for the other colors, this may help:

This one looks like it has two emblems where the one is in the photo you showed

It also looks better proportioned to the stripe
