What the h***, Dave - just paint the Texans in the Mustang schemes - Rich will be happy, I'll be happy and Don Boose will think they are all Corsairs...(hi, Don!)

Sorry for the delay on releasing these kits, let me explain.

The first Texan kit (X-151)
and the second release (Civilian N7095C)
were ready to be released...

and then I started work on my third version
(the Golden Hawks RCAF replica airshow SNJ)

And for that one I needed to do a test build
to checkout the graphic alignments.

In the process I started fiddling with this and poking at that...
and before the first night was done, I had sketches for a whole
bunch of fuselage changes!

Just a case of constantly looking for ways to make things a little better
for the builder and the finished product.

So, I put all the Texans on hold...went back to the computer,
tweaked a whole bunch of things and did another test build.

I am very happy I did...
because not only did I fix a couple of minor issues that have bugged me
from my very first redesign (of Ken Uhrig's model)
but I came up with a new assembly method for the fuselage that works brilliantly!
and I think I have improved the model some more.

So as of today, I got all my kits updated with the new parts and modifications.
Two new kits have been sent off to ecardmodels.
Golden Hawk model is back in normal test build mode and will be added to the
collection once I finish this test build.
After that, I have a custom Texan to produce for someone and then probably
an SNJ model (proper NAVY version).

You just keep doing it the way you do it, Dave. Your designs have improved with every new release, so don't change your methods or retreat from your standards. I, for one, am more than happy to patiently wait for a model that is more accurate and easier to build. That Golden Hawk bird is drop dead GORGEOUS! I wonder if I can enlarge the Golden Hawk repaint I did of Roman's F-86 so the two bids could sit side by side...???

Sounds like a great model in the works, Dave.

The Golden Hawk fuselage is a beauty . . .

although it does look like a Corsair.

golden hawks harvard! YES! I am buying this one for sure! Bud Granley (the pilot) would be proud! I freakin Love it! I suggest marketing it to all the CAF bases too! and possibly having it sold on Bud's website, ( or at least linking it back to your site) he is very approachable I picked his brain to death when i was building the RC version of this,..
