That's looking good.Cabling effect is especially nice.
Remember that these used to make quite a distinctive noise as they got going.

...
With the latest Chassis Former buildup, I needed to print a newly modified set of Interior panels and test their fit. I also printed up a new set of outer panels As I was starting to design some of the Interior parts (for the under-Turret area) I realized that there wasn't enough space. The under-Turret area was too small...and the Engine bay area was too large. A slight miscalculation on the position of the central Bulkhead. So, I moved its position and modified a couple of parts. For this test build, I cut out and moved the central Bulkhead...and added a piece to the bulkhead spacer. (You can see it in the photo above) In the actual kit, the spacer is lengthened, and all related parts are modified to suit the new position of the Bulkhead. I cut a new set of adjusted Interior panels and tested their fit. ... With everything looking good, I went back to adding surface details to the interior panels and designing the parts for the Interior. Parts include some boxes, bins and containers...some few hydraulic and electrical components... and racks for ammo. I tried to keep things simple...since much of this is hard to see, or completely hidden once the vehicle is completely assembled. I focused on the largest, main objects and applied a simplified visual and assembly approach to those objects. ... Biggest concern is making sure nothing interferes with the Turret cage that hangs down into this area. Its a very tight fit in the real Car, but the Turret cage must fit and turn without hitting anything. Everything looks good so far.

Looking good, Dave. I like the simplified visual and assembly approach for the interior.

Work continues...a little slower, but it continues.
Not much building on the model for a few days. I am wrapping up some home renovations and I have been tinkering with the model design. Last night I tried to test fit some parts for the Engine Bay. Realized I wasn't completely happy with the engine bay opening). Felt like I needed to redesign it a little bit. That led to changing the size of the engine bay opening, which led to modifying the deck plate, which led to altering the middle Bulkhead, which led to moving two bulkheads, which led to modifying the long internal formers, which led to... well, you get the point. Any one wanna buy a slightly used Saladin? ... Don't panic mechanic. This is me tearing apart the last build to try to save as many bits as possible. Like the cockpit tub, and those bits in the middle section. I don't mind building another "test"...but I'd like not to be slowed down by rebuilding all those details parts. The rest can go into the "scrap pile". LOL Seems like I am collecting quite a collection of used bits! The bin contains three complete Hulls, at least six sets of interior panels, four Cockpit Tubs, and enough cardstock to build a Centurion model! ... Anyway, a new set of Formers and Hull parts is already printed. And the Formers are already laminated to 1mm. Whats this?...Hull number four? five?...I've lost count at this point. I'm getting good at this. This shouldn't take too long.

What's that famous quote? Something like, "Though this be madness there is yet modeling to it" ?

A demonstration, if it were needed, on the value in your models. The truly staggering attention to detail and quality. Nice one Dave.

Thanks!
In the last three days...printed, assembled, glued in place. and then trashed three full outer skin panel sets and three top plates. First I changed the way the side tabs connect... some of them I want to use for the upper Hull section. Then I started tweaking the dimensions of the side bulges (on the Hull) just to get a bit better fit of the top plate. Point is: nothing new to report since Thursday.

Also, there are only seven twitter followers! So, myabe I will drop the twitter reports and focus on my facebook pages?! Please Like, Follow, or whatever it is you do, at https://www.facebook.com/davescardcreations/ And, you can keep tabs on model releases here: https://www.facebook.com/Paper-Model...7779413044109/
