Definitely not a Tardis Engine Core
This project was dreamed of years ago...I started a folder...collected some reference...
but like many other ideas, it got left in the dust while I moved on with other things. Recently I was inspired to take another look at it, and I got rolling with it. But...I honestly don't know how far I will get with it. I don't know if its going to work...I'm just winging it at this stage. Other than some static 2D drawings, I haven't created much of a plan...as I said, I'm winging it. The goal is to make an interesting model that hasn't really been done before and turn it into a retail kit. We shall see. ......................... Starting point: I figured support was in order, so a sub-frame was quickly built and then modified with some extra discs. Strategic support. Surprisingly, I got the dimensions correct and the frame slid into the tube tightly but without much trouble. I wrinkled a few spots, but nothing that won't be fixed and/or hidden. I want to adjust some of the colouring...and this gives me some ideas for the next steps...so... I'll set this aside for now...I'm off to print another, and build it. In case you are wondering...the outer sleeve is 65lb cardstock...the frame is roughly 1mm cereal box card and paper print. The glue is Rockit Card Glue (which I like better for frames. Stickier, dries real quick, and rock solid strong when dry) After I glue the cardboard together, I paint extra across the seams for strength.

Since it is not a Tardis, if you build another matching one and tie and string between them, will it be an intergalactic communication device .

It looks to me like the crankcase of a twin-row 18-cylinder Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp engine for a Corsair.
But then, I only watch Dr. Who once a year during Christmas with Don III and the grandsons, so my Tardis-spotting skills are weak. Don |

Looks almost like the casing for a multi outlet hydraulic pump used in some farm equipment I seen when I was growing up... back in the '80s

It looks like a Corsair.
Is there anyone left on the Forum who remembers the story behind that punchline? Rick? Tim? Ron? Dan? Chris? Bueller? Mustang Canopy question No Thunderbolts were injured in the making of that thread. |
