The name "Deora" is actually a mis-spelling of the Spanish words de Oro which means Gold.
But the name came later in Deora's life, when the model car company AMT held a contest to name the Show Truck.

The original Anderson Bros paint was "one off" mix of a Golden Green colour
(however they didn't record the paint mix, so it could never be properly reproduced)
During its second year of Show Touring, the lease owner Chrysler, repainted it Lime Green Pearl.
It was subsequently painted a Gold Pearl when owned by noted car enthusiast Al Davis.

Deora was one of the "original 16" Hot Wheels vehicles by Mattel, and the Hot Wheels versions came in "Spectraflame" Purple, Gold, Red, Green, Teal, Orange, Blue, Yellow, and Aqua.

Funny, but the Deora, based and built on a brand new Dodge D100 Truck, leased and sponsored by Dodge, toured by Dodge, renamed the "Dodge" Deora...had a considerable number of FORD parts!

Sharing common parts was and still is very Common. Just look at any shared PSA (Peugeot/Citroën/Mitsubishi) model. It is a very effective way of keeping (design) costs down.

[EDIT]

Finished the Deora II:

Fun build, but now i feel like designing my own 'Hotwheels' model...

In this case, nothing to do with shared parts...Dodge didn't build this car.

Dodge jumped on the bandwagon and adopted this privately built custom as their own,
without realizing that the Anderson Bros had used a ton of Ford and General Motors parts for the custom!
The front steering was Chevy Corvair.
The tailgate "front" door was from a Ford station Wagon,
the glass was Ford...
even the side "intakes" were salvaged Mustang Taillight bezels!

In between other things, I have managed to finish another addition to my "HOT" Wheels Collection!...

this time, my favorite "CARS" character:
Ramone

This one I tried to keep in scale with some of the other cars

but its a tricky build.
Trunk and Fins are a little awkward
and corner connections are small and finicky.

I was going to enlarge the model to make it a little easier to build,
but I wanted to keep everything on one sheet.

Taking up some room on the sheet is two chassis' for this model!
You can make the "Low 'n Slo" Stance
or try the "Hydra-Tilt" Stance, for that cockeyed hydraulic suspension look!

Anyway, hope you like...

Sky Show Please !

Wow, seriously love all the Hot Wheel designs, if one may ask have you considered a 'variant' Deora having a Sky Show launcher and plane ?

Considering that the original Deora packaged in the Canada-only release of the Sky Show set is the rarest of rare HW cars, this could be a real treasure for all those recalling those magnificent cars and the planes they launched.
