Body Pivot Issue

Dave -

I a making an attempt at the Mean Maverick (plain vanilla with no paper balloons, strings, or tiny mice on treadwheels), but I have an issue that I'd like to resolve before I go further.

The rear of the chassis partially obstructs the hole for the body pivot. See Image 3.

What am I doing wrong?

Don

Don, take a closer look at the assembly diagram.
I did indicate on the diagram, the position of the rear part of the chassis (center strip).
But I admit, you have to look carefully.

Heres a photo...

Thanks for the speed-of-heat response, Dave.

I saw the assembly diagram and realized that the rear part of the chassis is supposed to be located forward of the pivot, but if the top of the rear chassis was to be flush with the sloping top of the frame, I had to drastically trim the tabs (Image 1) and fold the final panel way under to clear the pivot hole (Images 2 and 3).

The assembly diagram shows the tip of the angle of the last two panels forward of the pivot hole (Image 4). On my model, the tip of the angle is above the pivot hole, but it does allow clearance for the body pivot, so all's well that ends well.

I'm working on a manuscript review project with a deadline, but still hope to finish the Maverick by this weekend.

Ah. I see now that the rounded end of the chassis tail end sticks out. Even though I forced mine to be flush with the top of the rear end of the chassis, I think it will still work so I won't have to make another chassis.

You will recall that I am not always quick on the uptake.

Thanks.

Don

That minivan looks like a tame version of the Dredd taxi - now that's a Koolwheelz!
