Good to hear your kits are noticed by those outside the paper model world.

Great interview, Dave! Excellent models.
One of the nicknames that Don III used for Don IV when he was little (about 20 years ago) was "Buckaroo Banzai." I'm sure they will both be interested in the interview, the models, and the website. So will Christopher (aka "Not Don"). Congratulations on all these achievements. Don (too) |

Well done Blue Blaze Irregular AirDave!
And I like the Jet Car model. Articles were interesting too in the mag - thanks for the link!

Very well done Blue Blaze Irregular AirDave. You're a great designer. It's nice to see you and your models get some exposure. It's a great interview.

Great interview, Dave. I'm happy to see our hobby (and you), get some press outside the forum. Will there be any new speederz kits in the pipeline as a result of the interview?

not this year, but who knows. I was planning on updating the Bloodhound...but it looks like that project is shelved permanently(?*). *the car is in a Museum now. There are few other LSR vehicles that I might consider, but many of them have too many curves and curvy shape that is hard to recreate in (small) paper.

Excellent interview/article Dave. They gave you nice exposure and I thought they covered your work very well.
I discovered during the course of reading the article that you were born in the U.K. May I ask: What do you find is the biggest difference (if any) between residing in Canada vs the U.K.? (besides driving on opposite sides of the road). Mike |

Kind of like asking the differences between the US and Canada.
Contrary to what most Americans think, Canada is so much like the US in almost every way. Now, lifestyle in the UK is very much the same as North America. Same music, TV, food, cars, technologies. But if you went back before the turn of the millennium, it was a lot more different. I haven't lived in the UK since the 70s, so what I know comes from friends, relatives, News and media, etc But I have done my best to keep up with the decades in the UK over the last 50 years and I still try to maintain my British connection. I still hold a British passport...not a Canadian citizen. I think History is the biggest difference...which Americans can probably relate to better. The UK has more than a thousand years of recorded history and most of it is still visible. Canada is more about living in the present and looking to the future. Canada only has about 150 years of recorded history. A 100 year old building is a big thing here. In England London has an Underground(Subway) much older than that! And there are Pubs that are 600, 700, 800...900 years old! Canada, like many other countries, is built heavily on foreigners. Thats what it is...a country for all nationalities. But its probably the biggest "melting pot" nation on the planet. Unfortunately that means you are constantly filling it with people who rightly care more about their "roots", than they do Canada and its history. So things tend to get forgotten and destroyed a lot quicker. And Canada's history and historic things take a back seat.
