Someone asked me once about a Koolwheelz version of a Judge Dredd Lawmaster hoverbike.
I really wasn't interested because I didn't think too much of the movie
... and its a motorcycle.
Bikes are just too small and complicated (compared to cars) to be Koolwheelz models.

I decided to give it another chance, and rewatched the 1995 movie...but still found it to be corny and unimpressive. Sorry.

I also rewatched the 2012 reboot Dredd...which I loved, again (for the second time)!
But the reboot is a lot different...it lacks the comic book look of the first film.
Thats the one thing about the first film that I do really like.
The big sets, bold colours, wild costumes and vehicles impress me, the same way Tim Burton's Batman impressed me.
For that reason I am considering the Lawmaster as a Koolwheelz model.

It helps that the other day, I came across a recent sale at the Propstore Auctions...
one of the original Lawmaster movie bikes.
And the web listing includes a set of detailed photos from various angles...just the reference I need.

Unfortunately, after some more researching, I discovered that the movie bikes were quite a bit different from the original comic book version.
They are also different from Toy versions of the Lawmaster, which are more like the original comic book version
with very wide front and rear tires, a lot more exposed parts, less fairings...and not a flying/hover bike.

And then I found the original pre-production plans for the movie motorcycle...
which are very similar, but proportional different to the finished on-screen bikes.

So, I began to wonder, what version should I create as a Koolwheelz model?
I really prefer the original comic book version...but its usually all about the movie cars for me.
The comic book/toy version might be a bit easier to simplify and stylize, but neither seems easier to render as a small scale card model...I'm torn.

FYI in the movie, there appear to be at least 6 working/rideable Lawmasters in the film...
they also blew one up halfway through the film (probably a static model built just for that purpose),
and the final scene has 7 Lawmasters parked in the street (only one of which is seen driven away).

I don't think theres much difference between the bikes, if any, that I could see.
But these are real, hand built custom motorcycles.
Remember, this is before CGI action became the norm...before the Fast&Furious&Fake filled our screens!
There are some scenes of flying bikes and an airborn chase, all done with pre-CGI special effects.

Anyone interested in this as a Koolwheelz, let me know which version you would prefer.
No, I'm not doing more than one.

I'd still like the Land Rover taxi, but either bike will do - probably the comic one for me.

Finally getting this one published....

as I said before, I had no interest in putting out a Koolwheelz Back to the Future Time machine DeLorean...
mainly because there are already quite a few models out there, and most are pretty good.
I couldn't see the sense in another one of the same.

But I do have a personal history with the DeLorean motor car...
I loved it when it debuted in the early 1980s...I wanted one.

Luckily I got to drive (an almost new) one...only once, for about half an hour (back in the early eighties).

I remember it wasn't very powerful, which was a big surprise at the time.
And visibility was poor.
...but, Gull Wing doors!

lol its a very kool looking car, and still is. Its definitely worthy of being a Koolwheelz model.

Assembly is straightforward (I think) however the front spoiler is tricky because its so small.

You can find the DeLorean motor car in the Specialz - Road Carz section of my website.

Dave, very cool! I'm thinking of doing it on the silver paper.

However, there is a dotted line box on the roof/windshield area.

wow.
The dotted line is not that easy to see...in fact, I deliberately made it so it barely prints.
On my printer it disappears completely!

But it is there to illustrate exactly where the roof panel creases on all sides.

Since there is no room to indicate the score lines
and and no clear indication for the builder as to where the folds are.
But once you look at the PDF, you now have the information you need.

This is also helpful to inexperienced builders, which has always been my goal.

I don't cater to those who wish to modify the models.
So I am not removing it for those who want to edit my model and print without the car texture.

I don't really know why you'd want to print this on silver paper, since the car was never silver?
And I put a lot of work into trying to recreate the correct colour and stainless steel effect only to have it thrown out in favor of silver paper?!

...
BUT!.....
having said all that...I just realized...that the dotted line has shifted.
BIG APOLOGIES.

I ONLY JUST THIS MINUTE NOTICED THAT IT WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF PLACE!

SO ONCE AGAIN, APOLOGIES FOR MY COMMENTS.

I think I made my point...now...I will shut up and go fix the model.
Download again later today!

Okay...I fixed the deLorean!
lol
And updated the download link...

if you got the error file, delete it, and download the DeLorean again.

Once again, I apologize for not getting the point sooner.
My comments about the dotted line stand, along with my opinion on changing the colour...

but why I didn't see that the lines were so far out of place (right across the windscreen!) is ridiculous.

I should have noticed that right away.
I should have noticed it when it was brought to my attention.
lol its old age...yeah thats it...its old age

Judge Dredd Lawmaster Bike

Hi Dave

I would like to see you produce a model based on the Moulded Toy Version
to me it is more attractive especially with the eagle on the front. I would be really great if you would consider following this up with a model of the City Cab
from the 1995 Movie as I have been wanting a model of this for years.

Sincerely

Tom
