P-51B Lambie II Update
Just sent off an updated Lambie II model to Chris at ecardmodels. Was working in my Mustang kits again, looking for new project ideas and I was specifically looking at doing another "Bluenoser". While re-freshing my mind and re-examining the Lambie II kit I noticed some small issues and so I decided to update a few areas of this model. This was also an excuse to add my new and improved wing fairings! Contact ecardmodels for your updated kit if you already bought Lambie! .................................................. ............... On the "Bluenoser" topic... I want to produce at least one more Bluenose model (maybe more?) and I do have one Mustang already in mind. But I figured I might ask first, if there were any particular planes of interest? Heres a list of the P51B models (Bluenosers of the 352nd) that I have some reference material for. Any particular choices? P-51B Mustang Blue Nose 352nd FG Pilot ...............................Serial ..........................Plane William "Bill" Whisner ......42-106449 ..............Princess Elizabeth Robert "Punchy" Powell ...44-13930 ...........The West by gawd Virginian John F Thornell ...............42-106872 ............. Princess Elizabeth...on its way to the shop as we speak!
Announcement HERE .................................................. .................................... Quote:
But...once again, there are reference image issues. I have no photos of the left side of this plane...although this isn't a big problem, because I have a good idea of what is painted there. Problem is the right side with "Miss Lace" and the PinUp artwork. I need to find a good photo of the PinUp artwork or at least the original inspiration artwork for the pinup. Without this, I would be forced to fake the pinup and who knows what I might end up with?!! I have two photos and this is just about the best pic I have found, and its just not good enough to work from.

Latest Mustang Updates!
................................... Miss Lace has not progressed any further. A lack of good reference material (specifically the pin up artwork) has prevented me from continuing with this repaint. If anyone ever finds a good pic of the side artwork, I will pick this one back up! ..................................... Coinciding with the recent release of John Mollison profile Artworks at ecardmodels.com, I was asked to design another of the Blue Nose Mustangs... "The West by gawd Virginian" This makes four (or five?) Blue Nose Mustangs available now! Check out the release thread for it. ..................................... After going through the John Mollison art prints at ecardmodels, I see another Mustang (actually an A-36 Apache) (and a couple of Jugs, P-47 Thunderbolts) I could add to the collection. Watch for a new release today or tomorrow of these new aircraft models. ....................................... and thats the Mustang news for Nov.2010!

As a life-long Milton Caniff fan whose earliest memories include listening to the radio show and among whose prize possesions are a complete set of Terry and Scorchy Smith reprints, I hope that the references will someday become available to allow completion of Miss Lace.
Not complaining. I think it's wonderful that you have produced this long line of historic aircraft and have made such determined efforts to insure accuracy. Don |

There is a small error that has been brought to my attention, which I have already fixed! if you bought this model, please get the updated version or contact me for the updated parts. During a current build of this model, Ray spotted the error and let me know. thanks Ray His photos of the yet unfinished model look amazing!
