As stated before, I have a redesigned pair of Wing Root Covers (Fairings) to fit just about all the Mustang P51 models (1:33 scale)

I've already started using them in recent model releases and
I am trying to create replacement fairings for all past Mustangs that I have produced.
Since there are so many models (well over 30 different Mustangs I believe?),
for the time being I am leaving it up to any customer to contact me and request a set of updated fairings to fit the model they purchased.

I should have a set of Fairings ready to go shortly
to fit the "Dazzle" Disruptive Camouflage Mustang (from the "Rare & Unusual paint Scheme series).
I'll post the download here and in the Dazzle Mustang release thread.

.................................................. ................

By special request,
a fifth addition to the Rare & Unusual Paint Scheme Mustang series has been added!

One of the earliest Mustangs, a P51 Mk1, which eventually went to the Russians for evaluation...
I'm just about to post a Model release...look for it!

In this case, I am producing a single page update (it includes a couple of build options)
and what I would like to do is post the update page here (a PDF link)
and send the page to you for distribution (at your leisure).

Does that sound okay?

or, if you really insist, I can create an updated Kit, its just another job on my pile...no problem.

I dont need updated kits one freebie that includes them ALL would be good. Preferably one set of fairings per page with a note as to what model it goes with. Then i can put that in with each current model too

We are talking about 30 Mustangs!
I'm not going to try to create new fairings for every single model.
At least not all at one time.

The old fairings work...my new design is just a lot better looking!
And I have started using it in all recent and future Mustangs.

I already offered to make new fairings for anyone who has purchased an older kit,
all they have to do is ask.
Thats making one at a time, which doesn't seem so daunting a task.
And when one gets made, it can become available for everyone who wants it.

Other than that, I will take a look at your idea (Chris) when I get some of these other projects out of the way.

AH! I thought a lot of them would be fairly interchangable

How about this... When you have a good amount of them done - I dunno even five! Make a freebie kit that has those five. I will put it up on my site and the description will say what models they are of course. Then as you get more done just add to that kit and I will update it on the site. If you make each page separate instead of one big pdf its easy to add to the zip then I can put the specific fairing set in with the appropriate model too.

yes, some should be interchangeable...I'll give you that.
The Tuskegee planes, for example, are probably all the same.
So, that covers 13 planes.
And half a dozen planes are recent models that already have the new fairing design.
So, realistically its only about a dozen models after that.

I can only fit about two sets (right and left pairs = set) on one page.
That includes instructs and diagram.

Maybe three, if I jam them in.

So, theres not much point in making the PDF updates as you are describing.
Thats why I was just going to do each set separately.
...but I don't want to get into doing them right now, because of many other projects.
And thats why I agreed to do some if I got an immediate request.
(Just like I got with the Dazzle 'stang)

So, once again, you will get a single PDF page that you can distribute however you like
and I will also release the PDFs here for those who want to grab them.

And lets not forget...this is not a repair or model fix.
This is a new design of fairing I created that can be retrofitted to earlier models...if I do the artwork. And eventually I will.

see...its all clear now

.........................

right now, Curt is checking the fit of the new fairing design on the dazzle Mustang.

The big issue with that model is the slight variations that occur with each build and builder.
Making it difficult for me to guaranty a perfect line up of the graphics on the fairing.

What I have come up with is two options on one sheet...

A new set of the updated fairing design with the proper graphics in place.
But I have removed the smaller front graphics for easier placement.

And...a second set of fairings with the graphics washed out, almost invisible.
the builder will be required to fill in the graphics on the fairing manually
using a pen or paintbrush. Its a pretty simple design and shouldn't be a big task for most builders.

I have also included a small diagram explaining how the fairings should be curved and fitted
to hopefully improve the look and graphics alignment.

If all goes well with Curt, that PDF will be available soon!

I dont think you understand what I am saying. All I want it one set of fairings on one page for each set you make - thats it nothing else. I add each of those to a big zip on my side that I update when you complete a new one. I am not asking you to update any existing pdf's or anything of the like.

you have a "big zip" on your side?
...that must come in handy?
I have a friend with Crones, he gets a lot of surgeries, the zip would make things a lot easier.
Does it leak?
