I'm with ya on this one. I stood out in Bomber Alert refueling those same birds when they were on temporary assignment to Kincheloe AFB, Mich.

It's a very similar aircraft to F-111, but there are differences, such as longer wings. Be nice to have a kit of one.

Just a little history on the F-111. These planes started out as a proposal for a new fighter for Aircraft carriers during Vietnam. Secretary Mcnamara was pushing hard for them. They unfortunately sucked as fighters, to heavy and poor thrust! Admiral Tom Conneley told Mcnamara so....and almost lost his job. The Admiral instead was pushing hard for another fighter being proposed by Grumman....Guess which fighter and who its named after! luckily for the F-111 the Air force needed a fast fighter/Bomber...mostly fast bomber and it saved the F-111 from the trash heap of history.

I remember those days. The family and I would sit in the cemetary on the oppsite side of the airfield and watch and listen to those loud suckers along with the KC-135's Tankers until the MP's or local police would chase us out.
