Tornado Intercept Vehicle 2

Dear list:
As a kid growing up in Texas and going throuth a small tornado and later in life dodging tornados on a motor bike in Eastern New Mexico I saw an Ad in popular science Mag about the Tanklike thing that the people are going to drive into the wild side. The Pictures and stuff on the internet looks like it could make a good paper model.

I saw this on Discovery channel.

It's essentially a large truck that's armored against debris and hailstones with plates that drop down on the sides to stop wind forces from picking up the vehicle and throwing it.

The question is, which TIV do you want? TIV 1 or 2? Hehe. BOTH!!!!! I would love to have those things. Throw in DOW and it'd be a complete set. (I'm a Storm Chasers nerd) :p

Some pictures would certainly make it more convincing...

Here's TIV 1- An old 2wd Ford F450 truck frame

Here's TIV 2 following TIV 1. GIves a good idea how much bigger 2 is. TIV 2 is a Dodge 4500 chassis with 6 wheel drive!

Here's the DOW 7. It's a mobile Doppler Radar station used to guide the TIV and other chase vehicles.

That was fast!

I've seen the last one, but the first two look futuristic...is it possible we passed through a time-warp and nobody told me?

Been thinking since last night on how to model a tornado...with flying debris...and a path of destruction...we'll see.
