British WW2 trucks
There does not seem to be very many British WW2 trucks available in paper.
There were some well-regarded designs - Rommel loved the Morris - but I'm struggling to find anything. I have managed to get the Chevy 15cwt & C15ta but would love to see something from the Morris or Bedford stable. The half-track QL would be cool. I'd like 1:25th scale, if anyone feels like designing one... Here is some of my wishlist (I have slipped an armored car in here as well ) Morris Commercial, 4 x 2 PU, 8cwt Morris C8 GS Bedford QL T18 (Boarhound) [How do I get rid of useless tags? Thought i'd deleted them but they are back :( ] Last edited by hirondelle; 02-27-2016 at 09:38 AM. Reason: comment |

PTA have simple 1/72 bedford QLD and QLR, but worth to take a look Allied Armor

Thanks for the pointers guys.
I have seen the AEC Matador - it is one of my favorite WW2 vehicles. It is already on my to buy list I like the PTA vehicles but was looking for 1:25th scale as a preference (even tho that means I need more space!) Kinda surprised there isn't a Morris in PTAs armory tho. :P A few more cool pix - |

French Cartokit (long extinct) used to have some excellent models. I have two for sale on my site zeistbouwplaten.nl: Cartokit, Dodge 56/57, 1:18, and Cartokit, Dodge 51/52. Both are now extremely rare. Ther may be some pictures on my Collection: https://www.flickr.com/photos/zeist_bouwplaten/

It would be nice to have some more of the briish types from the airfix Raf books. I would certainly purchase some to go along with the spitfire models.

- Diderick A. den Bakker - those look interesting. I like the Dodge vehicles, I believe WAK & Modelik do some variations also.
- consistseeker - I did a quick search for airfix RAF vehicles & got back these. Some nice vehicles. Be great to see a few of those at 1:33 & 1:25. I saw WAK do a nice WW2 Scammel Pioneer Last edited by hirondelle; 02-28-2016 at 09:27 AM. Reason: pix |

When I was a lad in the 50's, practically every garage had either a Matador or a Morris Quad in use as a recovery vehicle.
Matties were great but don't ya just have to love the Moggie Quad? It's gotta be the ugliest truck ever built ... but it just shrieks with character. I was sure I had a paper one somewhere in my 'To do' archive, but I can't find it. I guess it musta just been memories of the Airfix kits I had as a youth. I had all of those you show in the last post. (Airfix not WAK) I'm sure there was a Moggie Quad available too though. My rather dodgy memory says it came with a field gun and limber. Yep! (Google to the rescue) There it is, but the earlier ones were even uglier.

Your memory is not dodgy - there was a Moggie Quad with limber and 25 pounder.................
And the rather fine range of recovery, refuelling and emergency vehicles ( a couple shown in he earlier post) - from which you could mod just about any truck!

Sorry for the misunderstanding I meant the ones in the airfix raf airfield book, but the raf resupply set would be a good start. Now all I need is some designer to do his magic in a scale of 1/48 or 1/50 to go with the iron maiden spitfire.
