Fascinating! I would have gone to my grave swearing that I had seen a Boeing 314 in Raiders. Shows how the memory can play tricks. Thanks for all this info (especially Dave's photos and your inside info, Chris).

I always thought that thing was kinda ugly. I have to like a plane to model it and the flying wing just doesn't do it for me.

For another Pan Am flying boat in the movies, check out the Martin M-130 that features, as a matte painting and a partial mockup, in "The Phantom".
