GREAT NEWS for flying boat fans! Chris has posted the Lad-N-Dad models of both the Sandringham AND the C-Class Empire boat at ecardmodels.com! At 1:48 scale, these are sure to build up into inpressive display pieces. The Sandringham is in the markings of Ansett Air, and the Empire is in the livery of Quantas.

I must reveal a small secret...when I started this post, I was "feeling out" some responses,
because I had the idea to start designing a "Raiders of the Lost Ark" Clipper. Within a couple of days, using some existing design elements, I had the basic outline and major components of a "Clipper" Flying Boat Unfortunately, it was then that I found out (from you guys) and from hunting for Flying Boat models, that there were already a few models out there and that the "Short" aircraft were in production. Now with the release of the new planes at ecardmodels...I have finally "trashed" my designs! LOL literally...it all went into the waste basket this morning! No problem...my design would have probably sucked anyway. BUT....if no-one has one in the works (?) and no-one is planning to start one (??) I would love to look into somehow creating that imaginary Flying Wing plane from the same movie!! Its not a big secret as to who designed and built that plane and what two aircraft were used as a design basis. So, tell me now...is this one already in the works somewhere? lol

Hey Dave- you know, you could apply your considerable graphics talents to doing a repaint of the Sandringham as the "Pan Am Clipper" from the movie?

yeah, I was gonna take a look at that model
but I noticed that many of the Lad-n-Dad kits already had some nice colour and texturing! I will still take a look at it though.

I've seen it talked about many times,the movie one and the original 4 engine concept but no model has shown up so I will go with yes please too!
