Museum Project

I am one of the directors at the Yukon Transportation Museum:

www.yukontransportationmuseum.ca

We have a DC-3 Canadian Pacific CF-CPY, a Smith Miniplane, a static full-size replica of the Queen of the Yukon (a Ryan B-1 sister ship to Lindbergh's Spirit of St. Louis), and we are also building a replica (using quite a few original pieces) of a Fairchild 71/FC-2W2 bush plane CF-BXF.

I have suggested having paper models done of our aircraft (and possibly at some point of some of our WW2 land vehicles, trains and water craft) in our collection to sell in our gift shop for museum fund raising?

Any suggestions or direction to existing models of these that could be repainted would be appreciated.

Also, has anyone done a Piper Super Cub? I have seen the Fiddlersgreen J-3, but not yet found a PA-18.

Regards,
John

That's a really neat museum! I hope someone comes up with a PA-18, as I have happy memories of flying in the back seat of one in the late 1950s in Baltimore. Don B.

Turning a J3 into a PA-18 would be a pretty trivial matter. Redo the cowl and add a couple of lines for flaps.

PA-18 Super Cub

My eye sight must be going in my old age - I see there is a Super Cub on the Fiddlers Green site done by Jim.

John

Jim has also done a DeHaviland Beaver, which although not in your collection, is a very sweet little model. Contact him for details on using his models.

Rob!
As a matter of fact, I have already been in touch with John regarding distribution of the DHC-2 Beaver through his museum's gift shop.

I sent John to this forum to get the free model of his neighbor's plane. Whitehorse, Yukon Territory is near the North Pole and Santa is your neighbor right John?

In case anyone has missed it, here is a reminder - the Design Group Alpha has a free model of Santa's 2007 aircraft look around this forum to download it. The model is a Gippsland Airvan GA-8 in a stunning Christmas livery, all done by DGA's Guido Van Roy.
