USAF or AAC ME-109?

I know nothing about this plane, but I know that Ecardmodels has some great ME-109 models by Marek, and others. If some one wanted to research and do a repaint, I would get this one for my collection! Although I am slowly developing my model designs for ironclads, I really have no skills for re-painting

I was actually looking at trying to repaint a ME-109 next . I can't promise anything, but I'll try to repaint the ME-109 I have of Marek if this captured on is a ME-109 E...the one of Marek that I have is the ME-109 E Swiss livery. Is this one an Emil? If you know. And now I wonder if there is a close up of that art there right aft of the cockpit.

That one is an earlier Gustav. G-2 or G-4, but with the tailwheel hole faired over ala G-6 or later.
In North Africa somewhere

Oh yeah, found some more reference...and even a book that the photo is in....how ever it takes around 10 weeks for the book to be delivered!!

If only that art was visible enough to tell what it is....I found a 4 view of the plane to see markings on all surfaces :D

Okay, found the art....found the type of ME-109 (the G)....but we lack the model.:( The ME-109s at Ecardmodels are the D, E or F.

I can start the repaint if there is no concern that the ME-109 will not be a Gustav.

Choose the F. This is an early enough G that the differences are minor - G lacks the small triangular windows beneath the windscreen, has a slightly larger oil cooler under the nose and a fixed tailwheel. Later G's got the distinctive bulges on the nose to fit larger armament.

Thanks for the info Shrike. Easy enough to delete triangular windows. Oil cooler and fixed wheel will probably not be noticable. Bulges of the nose, hmmm....we'll see what parts are on it or see if I can create some.

Oh boy here we go!
I love the synergy on this forum.
Great way to start a new kit, Corey.
I'm looking forward to this repaint, also.

Yep-a new kit would rock!
I have built 3 1/2 Merak ME-109s, and have the Swiss one printed. Still working on the Tropical F. I am really liking the way the go.
