Great to hear this wonderful news, Darwin!
I will see what I have by way of photos...I know I downloaded a bunch of pics of both the TEXAS and NEW YORK off of the internet, so maybe they will be of some help...just don't want to give you too many duplicates. I take it this will be a waterline model? If so, at what scale, 1/250 or 1/200? Or smaller? I am very much looking forward to seeing either ship made into a paper model, at any scale, but with moderate detail as I would like to build her at 1/600 scale. Cheers! Jim |

Jim, I may try a full-hull version. If not, the waterline design will allow a later retrofit to add red parts. Scale will be 1:200. What I need most are photos to show hatch and porthole locations, and the details like deck hatches, ventilation trunks, firehoses, 5" ammo hoists, and the fine details most people overlook in favor of the guns.

Hi, Darwin:
I sent you some photos of both NEW YORK and TEXAS, but they may not provide the degree of detail (or clarity) that you are looking for...hope I didn't waste your computer memory...delete what you don't need, mate. How does that portfolio book look? I ordered one too and hope it has enough detail for the items you are looking for. Maybe some of the photos on this page are helpful...but you have probably seen them already... http://www.ctomscott.com/exterior.htm http://www.ctomscott.com/walktour.htm Cheers! Jim |

Just in case anyone is interested, the TEXAS has been taking on water at her berth at the San Jacinto battleground, according to a report I saw earlier today on Yahoo news. She's not in danger of sinking, the leak appears to be in her fuel oil tanks.

My brain just exploded in joy for even the THOUGHT of a 1-200 USS Texas, WWI or WWII config. And then hopr for a 1:200 CGN version, or is that too much to ask? My bank account shivers in terror While I dream of a side by side anchorage of the 2!!
