A few shots in the dark (why? I'm using a very old camera that is still recycling electrons from the neo-lithium era). I also added a pic of one of the crews that worked on the XB-35 for scale effect. And some pics with some unnatural light. I will get some better shots tomorrow in the daylight.
At almost a 29 inch wingspan, this project quickly outgrew my workspace. It will take up quite a bit of shelf. With a few modifications, like single rotation props and changes in markings, this could be made into a nifty YB-35. And yet more changes, a sleek XB-49. I've been taking a lot of notes as I went along and produced a few drawings that will add yet more details to this wonderful plane. |

As promised, I have some pages for the XB-35 fiddly bits in 1:72 scale. When printed out at 100%, these should be in the correct scale. If any of the folding for the bits are unclear, I can put together some more sketches. When I have all the pieces together, I will put them into a pdf for download.

I've really enjoyed this thread...watching this project come together.
Great work all. This is an impressive kit of an important aircraft. Thank you for sharing, and thanks Texman for asking. Jeff |

3D CAD Files
Gary,
I have had problems sending your private messaging so I thought it best to reply here. Bob Leserve said the two file formats he would like to have your files output to are .stl and .3ds. These are for SolidWorks. We typically like to acquire two formats for each image file because if there are issues with one the other typically compensates for it. The two files should be emailed as attachments to: [email protected] and [email protected] You will be provided full credit for your contribution in our FAI documentation binder. Thank you very much for your assistance. Ed Clayman Houston, TX USA |
