Now I remember why I left PA.

Seriously, great subject and all (I love pre-war cruisers), but I come here to escape political opinions. I have enough stress as it is.

wichita 2013

Here is an update. having obtained the references and more important the drive to start again the Wichita project is back on. I had to start over to try and overcome the slight shortcomings of the hosho design. ie jagged lines on some of the fiddly parts. here is a small teaser to the design thread coming up...

Looking great, Ted!

I bet you're happy to get some time to work on her, and we appreciate the update and photo, just to whet our appetite and hopefully we'll see more real soon, time permitting.

Cheers!
Jim

I look forward to seeing Wichita develop. Love treaty cruisers, and Wichita was a real transition ship: an 8-inch gunned Brooklyn and pre-cursor of the post-treaty, Two-Ocean Navy fleet Cleveland heavy cruisers.

And it is always good to see your design skills and craftsmanship in action.
