Ultra Large Crude Carrier, another side project I might finish...

Hey,

Here I am with another spur of the moment design and work that I'll try my best to actually finish.

Some weeks ago I assembled the free model of the MV Asuka that is available online in many places, and hung it on the wall.

It looked very lonely, so I decided to start making some ships to go with it.

I've always liked big cargo and tanker ships, so why not build the biggest ship ever built, the Seawise Giant (also Happy Giant, Jahre Viking, Knock Nevis, Mont)

The Seawise Giant is much bigger than even I realized, at 1504', causing me to at first recalculate the scale again, thinking I must have done it wrong. My 1/800 Asuka actually measures out to be 1/867 scale, and I plan to make this, and any others to match.

At 1/867, the model is approx. 21" inches long, compared to 8.75" for the Asuka.

I hope to actually finish this soon, and I will release it free on here.

Here are some pics of my first test build of the hull, need to rearrange alot of tabs, and split the hull into equal sections, but I wanted to see how it would go together and look. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

Thanks for looking :D
