An Attempt at Our Local Pub - The Lighthouse Inn, St Brides.

While nostalgicating about trying to make "Micromodels" with scissors, razor blades and balsa cement in my schooldays, I thought... Why not have a go at it again?

...especially now when my days of being able to fly my model aircraft are getting a bit messed up by my disabilities:o

I'm usually found in the "RCGroups.com" Electric Scale forum ....they won't look for me here, will they?

So I bought some A4 card from Tesco's and started playing....

...and now I've worked the formulae for posting pics etc - I'll start making a nuisance of myself here, and give the poor balsa bashers a rest!:D

Very nice, Adrian!

Never a nuisance, mate, just enjoy yourself doing what you like to work on.

I always look forward to new models, especially those of the Micromodel genre. To me, they are a bit magical, like someone has used a machine to shrink objects down to a size that fits in ones hand.

I look forward to seeing one of your builds when you get a chance, as well as anything you might like to design.

Welcome!

Cheers!
Jim

Wrong Building Site?

Thanks Jim!

I'm wondering whether this should be on the "build" forum..... but I am designing it, so...

Now, thanks to you guys here I'm picking up quite a few tips as well as learning things like - having to think "in mirrors".

Made some progress with the CAD and the model. That card from Tescos is probably good value at £3 for 50 sheets of 160 gsm? Better than cornflakes packets!

Now I'll be learning to put DXF's onto PDF's I suppose...

It also occurred to me that it looks somewhere near 00/H0 scale (1/76th?). I have started by scaling it to suit the A4 cards, but the end product could be better at the model railway size. I'll take a measurement along with my next pint.

Of course, it hasn't even crossed my mind that conjuring up these models could become an excuse for a Welsh national pub crawl!:D

a Few Moddies!

Thanks Chaps

Changed the scale to "00" and some of the colours, printed out and started again. Now I've got an acre of card parts to joggle onto A4 sheets!
