Super Detailed Super Corsair
The bug has bit me again and I'm working on upgrading my Super Corsair again.
Right now I'm only looking at making the wings so they can fold and few other minor upgrades. But I'm wondering if there are any of you who would be interested in seeing Halinsky or GPM level of detail in this model? If so I might try doing that. Just thought I'd let you know what I'm doing although there are no pics yet. Announcing a project has a way of helping me push myself a little faster. For the new members here I designed the Super Corsair for sale on Gremir.com, pics can be seen in my gallery. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, I think the GPM Corsair can be built with wings normal or folded, but it did not look like they are actively hinged so that they "work". Would seem to be hard to do and have any sort of strength without resulting to using "other materials" such as paper ore. What were you planning?

The more detail the more fun. I like to add instrument panels I pull from real aircraft photos to most of the planes I build. Cotton smoke (stiffened by hair spray) looks great also.

Rick,
There is way too much stuff that has to move (flap actuators, wing fold hydraulics etc) to make actively folding wings practicle. So I'll only offer the option of folded or not. Although looking at the GPM kit it almost looks like it is designed with working hinges but not being able to read Polish I don't know. Anyone know what the word "szpilka" means? It is used to lable several diagrams and looks like it could mean hinge or pin. |

It's a pin.
Don't have the model so I cannot verify the foldability of the wings....

Wilja,
Tricking out the Super Corsair is a good choice. I'm suffering a similar condition and have drawn several drawings of different subjects trying out each in an effort to make up my mind..., -Gil |

I still have an F-18 Hornet that is about 80% done all I'd have to do is model the landing gear cockpit and weapons and unroll it. Then there is the Golden Eagle project i started on and dropped (probably has the most chance after the Corsair of eventually being completed) then there is my ambition to design and build a real airplane (temporarily halted while learning about airfoil design). But I love the Corsiar and that's why I keep coming back to it.

Trapped In the Century Series Time Machine
Will,
I am having difficulties deciding which one of these aluminum beauties will receive my undivided attention for the next several months. I am leaning toward the F-100D Super Sabre. I've collected the very best modeling documentation one could possibly ask for so that can't be used as a ready excuse any longer. And yes, the skin will be aluminum. Beautiful, reflective, shiny aluminum..., Sounds compulsively obsessive or is that obsessively compulsive. Both?..., -Gil |

Thunder Over Reno
Just found this today. #57 is supposedly the star of the show. Would be nice if I could get in on the merchandizing but more likely I'd get a cease and desist order.
