Just printed out 4 of the simplified prop... at 1:72 scale (print at 46.9%). Can't read the words front/rear or see the bolt heads unless I'm within inches of the printout. Looks like fun! Not quite the right prop in shape / color for my upcoming SPAD XIII build, but will work perfectly for my Fokker E.III. Thanks for making this available!

This is just to note that John, "Dr. Laser", did the same 1/72 trick. He made very good use of the simplified prop, available here, scaled down four-and-a-half-times, from 1/16 to 1/72. And it still came out beautifully, judging from the photos in his build thread.
As you can see, John has recolored the prop to the pattern of his choice. The assembled prop is seen closest to the uncut parts. Behind it is the prop it replaced, even as the model was already finished. Very flattering, I must say! Congratulations to John, for a most beautiful Halberstadt, and for a very readable and educational build thread! Leif Last edited by Leif Ohlsson; 06-02-2012 at 03:15 PM. |
