Nixus Concept Car.

A Spanish designer, Cristobal Vila, created some images of concept cars on his website for Eterea Studios. These deigns are under his copyright, but he invites modelers to try their hands at them. I was introduced to these designs through fellow member Angevine, who started a thread in Designer's Corner of Zealot Cardmodelers' Forum, asking if the designs could be represented in paper model form. I replied that I'd like to try.

Here is my attempt.

Plans.

Here are the plans I drew. Seeing the finished model, above, probably makes the plans easier to understand. My design methods are "old school": no CAD.

Thanks for showing the drawings, it's good to see more of your working methods.

Two more photos.

I added torque boxes to the bottoms of the side flanks, to stiffen the sides, and give them a fuller look.

Also, here is a better photo of the top.

This is one of the few times that I've tried to build an all cardstock model. I most often use writing tablet or cereal box cardboard for stronger, smoother surfaces. When designing the parts, I included tabs. The tabs got to be too awkward to work with for the fenders, so I cut them off. I returned to my old standby, cardboard, and used it for the fender strips, and glued the fender strips edge to edge to the panels of the fender sides.
