Ultra-Large Crude Carrier "Battilus"-Scale TBD

Hello all, after having a hard drive failure I am now back in business and moving along with new designs. Passaic has been delayed, but other than that all is well.

My newest design is the Supertanker Batillus. This was the largest ship ever built, if measured by Gross tonnage and was the largest self-propelled object in history. She was built in 1976 in France for Shell and served until 1985 when, do to falling crude prices, she was sold for scrap and demolished. Her sister, Bellamya, suffered the same fate.

She was 1359' long and 206' wide. I have not decided the scale but these are my options:

1/400: 3' 3" x 6"
1/300: 4' 3"x 9"
1/250 5' 6"x10.5"
1/200 6' 9"x1'

What do you all think? And how would it be for title of largest cardmodel ever if in 1/200????

Hi Avery,

I wondered where you had got to. Hope your HD failure didn't result in the loss of any current projects.

Wow, that is some ship. I've not heard of that one before. I think the pirates would have a hard time boarding that one.

Good luck with the design.
