Yet another Walden Models project...

Here's yet another exploratory design that may or may not result in a model / kit. Who wants to guess?

Cheers,

Oliver

Nope, though that would be a nice model as well... This one was launched just over 20 years earlier than Katahdin, and on the other side of the Atlantic.

Cheers,

Oliver

Is this your Project X? I have no clue about the ship but I like that other people have "can't resist" projects cropping up!

It looks like the French ram Taureau.

How about the 1871 armored ram Tigre or at least one of the other Cerbere class of armored rams: Cerbere, Belier, or Bouledogue.

Now that Zot draws my attention to them, Cerbčre, etc. seem like a good guess except that the bow is a little too humped perhaps. I have no photos of Tarbeau so just don't knowl

Kazziga's got it - It's indeed Taureau. If I built it as a model, it'd be just over 23cm long at 1:250 scale. Yet this little ram was briefly the terror of the Royal Navy! It was conceived for harbor and coastal defense, and it begat a whole slew of similar vessels, several of which were mentioned above.

Cheers,

Oliver

Well Oh Yeah!

Hi Oliver,

And all this time I thought it was a QA test escape from an Oscar Meyer wiener plant. . . ,

Sorry, but I had to do it. . . ,

Actually, Gil, you're quite right. It's a prototype for their new "MaidenDream" line of sausages
