Kind of leonine, in the face. Your process advances the hobby.

Thanks! quite the compliment!
I have the torso sealed and skinned, so I went back to adding details to the head. Just cut out shapes, but I am trying to make the seams a little less obvious by randomizing the details.

Thanks!
I am continuing to slowly build up details on the head. I decided to try and do the inverse of the spotted pattern I made for the top of the head by making a net-like pattern to detail the lobes on the lower, back half of the creature's head. I found and svg version of a voroni pattern, plotted it out, then cut out all of the little inside pieces. I then layered a couple pieces on the sides of the head. Looks kinda like a weird hair net currently, but I think once I get them covered and painted, it will look more like the random, lumpy bumps it has in the reference images.

Delicate work, but it makes sense on the model, also breaks away from the norm of adding details ontop of the surface - you're adding 'negative' detail by making spaces instead.👾

Exactly! One thing I always try to maintain in clay or even digital sculpting is to remember both positive and negative aspects of the details. You need both hills and valleys. So this is my attempt to do this in the paper medium.
Here are some pics of the results from the head and neck area.

Excellent work there Cory. Of course, once it's textured no-one is gonna believe that it's made of paper.

Thanks! Here you can see where I am using twisted strips of paper and dots of hotmelt to form the ribs and spine joints. Working from the head down through the torso adding details to the skin. My plan is to detail the limbs and hands separately, then combine them all and tie the details together.

The shiny 'wetness' look of the glue helps with the organic look.
