I use a free plug-in for Google Sketchup. It allows very precise, face by face unfolding. Works like a charm and it's free!

A very nice model. I think you guys do a great service in chronicling the great ships. So many people just hear of the Monitor and the Merrimack without realizing what developed changed the navies of the world.
