SS Michelangelo 1/250

Hello Everybody!

after long period of absence returning to forum and paper modeling in general. Was missed the hobby and Forum community as-well.

SS Michelangelo (and sister ship SS Raffaello) were very elegant and beautiful Italian ocean liners built in a wrong era for such vessels.
This particular project, with a help of a colleague in modeling Bill "shipbuild", is being slowly developed for more than a year.

The model materialized only a few weeks ago. Formers were cut by laser out of 2mm card paper and bulkheads are being laid on frame. The advantages of laser cutting is obvious - this frame is the most straght and least deformed I've ever achieved.
So the point of no return toward completion is achieved, moving on

Very interesting diagonal frames! Will watch this thread closely, especially how you build the distinctive latticework around the funnels.

A very elegant one!
I am not a real shipbuilder, but your models are tempting...

And the formers also in DXF/DWG ?

I've entered diagonal frames to give frame rigidity against twisting along longitudinal axis. Also it partly prevent large area flat bulkheads from folding inside.

The latticework is also done by laser on 1mm card paper. I only don't know how it will behave when being bent. Hope it won't be brittle.

Thank you.

Yes, the formers are prepared in DXF and also will be published in conventional manner - on pdf page.

Thank you Scifimodelfan and Herky.

It is far from masterpiece, but trying my best.

And Happy New Year for everyone!

Hi,

brief update.
Hull more-less completed. Were some troubles, so made a list of mistakes and changes. Now will return to digital corrections until everything is in my mind.
