Robby the Robot
I had to put the large B9 on ice for a bit while I wait for some supplies to arrive in the mail. Also, I needed a little change of pace so I started on a Robby the Robot design. Here's what I have come up with so far. The seams are pretty intense right now, I think next iteration I'll try some inner flaps instead of overlapping.
It's a little strange working with regular cardstock again. It feels almost like working with copy paper compared with the heavy posterboard stock I am using on the big B9. Anyhow, as always, I'll upload the final design here.

Lol, thanks for the encouragements! And thanks for the link, Captain, I had a look at that one last night. Very elegant, as usual for Uhu02's work. I had already started on my version, although I like how he handled the "hips" area better than what I have done. But I do have some different ideas on how to portray some areas with actual relief instead of printed details. I found some awesome references from miniatures and replicas. Here's my main reference image:

Yaknow, Robby's vehicle is on my todo list for quite some time now (still no time to get to it though). I recently got the BluRay of "Forbidden Planet". The colours are so gorgeous and the detail really pops.
