Hey everyone!
Just a small question...
The BNR N Class had a "tilt-able" nose water tank which helped in boiler retubing...
Should i incorporate this feature in my model as well?
I mean i could keep it as a choice, the builder can keep it down or keep it up....
What are your views?

Prabal - I personally would not bother.

I doubt that many people are aware of this feature on some of the Garretts, and also do not think people would really model it like this too often (as it would look a bit odd).

Even I'm Unsure about it.
Not many people would build the model in that way.
Especially, since I'm gonna keep the model simple.

Sometimes, the other builds and design threads on the forum intimidate me. Especially the Angraff KUR Garratt and this older Big Boy design Thread I was going through the other day.
I get a feeling that no one will be interested in a simple model.

:(

I think plenty of people may well be.

Remember modellers all seek different approaches and also have different tastes and skill levels - some like complicated model, others prefer simpler models.

For example I prefer simpler models so I am not investigating a huge amount of time in just one model, but other people enjoy really detailed models etc.

Dont judge your model on the basis of others you see - just produce it to the best of your ability. You may be surprised at the result. Its your model - design and be creative and see where it ends up!

Sorry to hear that. Be careful now...

Have you heard of "Long Covid"? If not look it up or send me a PM.

Looked up long covid...
Looks like I've got it. Don't even have the energy to turn on the computer. Let alone designing...
I just hope it goes away fast...

Meanwhile, I was able to source a few books from the National rail Museum here on Indian steam locomotives. They have a lot of detailed drawings and dimensions. They'll be helpful when I design the other steam locos....

I think I'll start designing the paper model today, just as a method to distract myself. Have all of the key dimensions and photos of the Garratt by now...
