Ready to drop the patterns for the cockpit and 131s into the model. I'll be cutting the bulkheads tonight.

J.,
Looks like a brilliantly designed model so far. It's nice to see something different. I agree..those wheels are overboard but that's what I love to see! Models that are strictly simple renditions of the real thing mostly appeal to less experienced modelers. Please! More building options! Seeing the engine mount underneath the skin is a serious tease! Given that every 190 variation started out as an A, are you going to follow up with all of the add-ons and modifications? Big tail? 1 metre plug and a Jumo? Or even the rara avis of them all, the C model?

I will do some work on variations after the A4.
I'd like to do a Mistel to go with my model before I went to deep into variations. I also have a Spitfire and a Marine Hummer in the research stage. When the initial A/F frame is complete, realistically I will want to work on something new for a little while. I need to get a set of the Spitfire drawings from Arthur Bentley....thinking out loud. |

The patterns for the cockpit assembly are complete. I am going to start building it just to double check.
If anyone feels like doing a beta for the heck of it, let me know. I haven't finished instructions, so you will have to wing it. Thanks |

This is probably the most detailed fw 190 design I've seen. I like the idea of a subscription model for kits this complex, it helps to keep your interest. Model Airways does that with their wooden airplanes.

Any opinions on scale?
Dimensions are in inches. |

1:24 would definitely bring me back to being 12 years old! I remember saving up my allowance to get the Revell 1:24 FW-190 at the base hobby shop in Baden-Baden Germany (1974). In reality, 1:24 would give fumbly fat fingers like mine a fighting chance to apply all that detail you've created. 1:32 or 1:33 would let the beast sit real pretty beside most other builds of this quality. Smaller is always easy to do by simple down scaling. If I ever get my Albatros CXII finished I'd love to volunteer as a beta builder (if you still need one).
All the best Ron
