Hello gents,
Pete, Crew C37 - thank you for your kind words, much appreciated! I hope that my little family goes on holiday mid of August and than I can do some proper work on F-86 & U-2D projects. By the way, next step are the wings, their support and their connection with the fuselage. For now I can send one more photo of all dry-fitted parts I have done so far. Hope it looks 'Sabre-ish' enough Kind regards Cybermac |

Good progress in the design phase. Looking forward to seeing more.
don't forget the separate wing leading edge slats. They were down on the ground. As an aside, I started building the Hobby Model 1/33 scale F-86E a few months ago. As good as it is, I still messed up in the build for a variety of reasons. Primarily due to the many internal frames. They got in the way of a smooth skin for the fuselage. More on that in my own thread later on. Isaac

Hello gents,
Mor54, Isaac - thank you for your kind words! @ Isaac - I have chosen '6-3 wing' (F-86F-30, etc.) so there is going to be no slats for time being. Because this is going to be my first 1/33 model done from A to Z, I am trying to keep it simple. There is going to be the time to make that model more advanced after it is all completed. As you just mentioned, too much of internal frames, skeletons or bays, can make the model unnecessarily complicated. kind regards Cybermac |

Hello gents,
I am back to the game after my family gone on holiday Today I started the design of wing supporting parts. I am not sure how durable it all should be (first time I am designing a wing in 1/33 scale!) so the idea is to make 3 spars. They will be wrapped with a 'carboard sleeve' so the wing surface is not going to get any stress/collapse marks while gluing it all together. Please see the pictures below. kind regards Cybermac Last edited by Cybermac; 08-10-2021 at 07:21 PM. |

Hello gents,
After some small corrections (to be able to fit the main landing gear and the slats in the future) I have just designed 3 spars and the main supportive parts. Soon I hope I should be able to glue it all together kind regards Cybermac |

Hello gents,
The designing of spars, etc. appears to be time-consuming, but I think I finally got it. I hope this is the last adjustment I have to do. Tomorrow it all goes on to the printer and 1mm cardboard. kind regards Cybermac Last edited by Cybermac; 08-21-2021 at 10:48 AM. |
