The most notable feature on the hangar fore are the "toilet seats" access to the ASROC rockets, these, heavy, hinged doors would provide a potential blast relief in the advent of an anomaly.

The next to do were the electrical panels and auxiliary cables, these reference images were taken shortly after the ship's arrival.

Wrapping up the cabling it is then on to the sparsely detailed starboard side whereas the port side of the hangar is entirely blank.

Now that I look at it, there is one small, shading error on the doors that will be easily corrected.

Finished the hangar fore and a good start on the hangar's starboard side, note that the port side is entirely blank.

My method is to get the most complicated out of the way first so that details get fewer and fewer as it nears completion.

On page six, the funnels and Torpedo tubes show very few details and then the last page, page seven, the ASROC, antennas and service ribbons are the few remaining details.

Always asked, "when will you be done?", my standard reply being, "when I run out of things to draw", well, guess what? I'm running out of things to draw!

I can't wait to print and assemble, to see if all of my "calculations" are correct!

The remaining parts that can be seen have already had the base colors put down, I still have to fill and line shade everything as this model uses a very simple line code for assembly.

Great!

I finally got this thread linked to the DDG website!, it took me a long time to get it linked so I'm pretty happy about that.

I am creating, "card model enthusiast" one, "novice" at a time!

Expect to see strangers, some more strange than others!

Next

The hangar is now done and next are the funnels and torpedo tubes, the base colors are in, shading and shadows to go, note that the details are getting fewer and fewer.

The funnels were actually fun to do, I enjoyed it after so many details prior, the only details were the vents, ladders and vent pipe at the seam.
Added another spectrum to my palette.
As you can see, the decking has very few details, only the line code to do.

You may be thinking: "that looks pretty simple and amateurish", and you would be absolutely correct as my target market is, "lil' Johnny and Mrs. Jones" and they aren't even, "amateurs" yet!

Note that what you are seeing are close ups of relatively small features.

Recommended for ages ten and up, I'm glad that you noticed!

Both funnels actually have a lower, irregular support structure that had to be omitted for sake of simplicity.
(another concession)

Torpedo tubes

I am actually detailing as I do the Torpedo tubes, here are a few of my reference images and a few more of the process.

All of the base colors are in, now adding the shadows and line shading, note image 04 as it shows the light guidelines that will be used to place the cabling, a work in progress, wait until they are done, getting a simple, extruded triangle to look like three stacked tubes isn't as easy as it sounds!

Torpedo tubes

Okay, got the torpedo tubes detailed, I'll take a moment to finish a section of flight deck netting that was overlooked and then on to the ASROC control center and this other structure that is located on the starboard side of the aft funnel, I believe that it may be some sort of condenser (?)
