Money Money Monye....

Quite often there is the problem of finding a birthday present especially for a big-xy Oh birthday and often people choose the sensible option and collect money. But that doesn't look so great when it's just put in an envelope, so here's an idea of how to package the money for a birthday where the person dreams of a sea voyage (possibly to New York). The total amount that was wrapped here is € 815,-. There were still about a hundred euros left, so you could have replaced some of the five Euro notes. The ten Euro notes on the decks are supposed to give a teak impression (I have no idea, what you would use if you build from English money), I felt the height of the chimneys was just right and so I didn't extend them (there were four twenty Euro notes intended for that, they are now in the hold...;-). As always *), the notes are connected with blue tack, which is white in Germany and called Pattafix. The construction took well over twenty hours, my wife helped to make the long strips of notes. The canoe stern, as you can see, is moulded from a twenty Euro note and I think it fits in well with the overall impression. Among other things, you can see one of the two cardboard frames that support the upper deck. Fore- and aft deck are also made of cardboard, the tens there are just folded and fixed on it. Since all the notes have to be pressed together very tightly (with pliers) for it to hold, the substructure of the funnels has been applied from front to back in single segments and the funnels were immediately fixed to the segments. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask, unfortunately the documentation has quite a gap....;-(

*) here is another model where I used this technique

Very creative. That concept could be applied to any number of events or travels.
