Thank you for your continued interest and comments Tappi, Charlie, and rifleman. I glued on all the track cleats and have attached the completed suspension assemblies to the hull. Assuming that the estimated length of the actual tank is accurate at ~ 5.5 meters, the model scales out to ~ 1/43. It's looking pretty darned good if I say so myself. I still have a few small pieces that I have to design and add to the model including towing pintles for the front and rear of the tank, rear facing vision ports, and wire grab handles for the doors and hatches.

The Hotchkiss machine still has to be sorted out. I wish the Republicans had used a Vickers or Maxim machine gun - it would have been so much easier to model. The Hotchkiss gun is such a complicated affair. I've included a 2D paper version that can be further thickened by sandwiching in another layer or two of additional paper, but I can't imagine being happy with it.

Final photos to come.

Thank you all for your positive comments. This project has come to an end, and I'm very pleased with the result. I scratch built a Hotchkiss machine gun from thin plastic dowel and lightweight paper discs and strips. I glued the machine gun to a small nail with a dome shaped head and then glued that assembly into the turret. The hatch handles are made from thin wire. I also made towing hooks made from doubled paper. The exact shape of the rear viewing ports are unclear in the period photos. What I came up with seems logical to me.

This was an enjoyable activity for me, and I hope you all had fun following along.
