Probably a combination of how the ejection seat works and 'aero' in general

...wing
Hello gents,
Thank you for you interest in F-84 and the project. As far as I could find on the internet the stripes on the canopy came as a reinforcement. This was due to the battle damage F-84 canopies got during the first battles over Korea. It came as a retrofit for E version and was factory installed on all G examples. Back to the project... It took me some time to find the necessary dimensions, angles, proportions, etc, but the general shape of the F-84 Thunderjet wing is now done Now, if anybody thinks that Thunderjets wing is straight - please have a look below kind regards Cybermac |

That wing looks a s straight as Yak-23. Vogue of times because a lot of jets in those days were designed with almost that exact wing or a variation like Fouga Magister.
As for canopy here is a pic of early F-84 with bubble one. |

airfoil
Hello gents,
I managed to cut the airfoil in 3 pieces and stretched is a bit. Now it sits nicely on the 3 fuselage's sections. Next weekend I hope I can work on wing spar and print the whole damn thing! kind regards Cybermac |

Now, if anybody thinks that Thunderjets wing is straight - please have a look below kind regards Cybermac[/QUOTE] I think the term straight is used as apposed to swept back ( or front ) wings. The wings certainly have a taper ( this is to reduce the aerodynamic lift generated at the tip that causes a bending moment on the wing spar ). The later F-84F did have swept wings. Isaac

First raw print
Hello gents,
Pete - thank you for your kind words! Isaac - I think you must be right. BTW, as it comes from my drawings & calculations the wings swept angle is 6,4 degree. Today I gathered all pieces of the fuselage and that's how they look on A4 format. Next couple of days I should be able to cut and glue it all together. Kind regards Cybermac |

Fuselage
Hello gents!
This weekend I glued most bits of the 'bottle like' fuselage all together. No wonder that F-84 is a son of P-47 called 'the jug'. Next time I will try to put together the air intake and exhaust segments. They are a bit fiddly because a big hole inside of the cross-sections which needs to fit the cylindric shape inside. Kind regards Cybermac |

Exhaust pipe
Hello gents,
I have just done the exhaust pipe, a cylindrical shape going through the small cross-section. Bit delicate to put it all together but hey ho, here we go... Please see the photos. Kind regards Cybermac |
