Smile Air intake

Hello gents,

RyanShort1 - thank you for your kind words!

So far I have got some good references for 3x F-84E & 3x F-84G painting schemes / textures.

That's including aerobatic teams and a real fighters from korean war.

And here is what I've prepared today - all necessary bits for the air intake, toothed glueing stripes and a lip.

Please see the photo.

Tomorrow during the daylight time I should be OK to glue it all together.

Kind regards

Cybermac

Cool Air Intake & a whole bottle ready now...

Hello gents,

You have to be a careful with the air intake, but with a bit of forward thinking and a patience it is possible to it at the first attempt!.

Two little rings (external + internal) fit quite OK, however the internal one could be a bit smaller.

The 1st step is to glue them twos together.
2nd step is to glue them with 2nd segment.
3rd step is to add the duct.

Please see the photos with the whole fuselage now completed.

The exhaust pipe isn't glued yet because there is going to be a different one for E-1/E-20 version.

Kind regards

Cybermac

This is not such a bad idea with intake. Unfortunately most of my models are way too small to do trick like that. It can be used in Mig-15,17,19.

Come to think of it maybe I can fix old Maly Mig-17/Lim-6 with this? Decent model with terrible air intake imho. Eh,too many projects, too little time.

Smile Front of the canopy...

Hello gents,

The only thing I can say - BIG thank you for the kind words of support!

I really appreciate it and I am doing my best to not to let you down.

I had a busy weekend but just now I managed to prepare the stilage for the front of the canopy.
That's the only 'non digital' part in this F-84 model design.

Next update - over the weekend.

Kind regards

Cybemac

Smile ...

Hello gents,

Here is another bit of canopy in progress, please see the photo.

BTW in 3 weeks time I am planning to do some kind of road trip through Europe.
If that comes to the fruition, I should be able to see F-84E at Klein-Brogel museum in Belgium.

The plan is to take some photos & measurements of the real Thunder!

Kind regards

Smile Kleine-Brogel

Hello gents,

The European with a short visit at Kleine Brogel Aviation Museum was really great!

The museum itself is rather usual place, although it has got couple of well preserved airplanes: F-84E Thunderjet, F-84F Thunderstreak, F-104G Starfighter, F-16A Fighting Falcon, Fouga Magister.

However, the best thing was at the end - one hangar at the end of the museum...

Plenty of aviation memorabilia, airplane parts scattered all around, engines, F-16 cockpit, canopies, model kits, badges, uniforms and a little pub place!

Anyway, I got some good photos and a measurements of F-84E-25/30 which I am going to use soon on the canopy and a exhaust pipe

kind regards

Cybermac
