Great news - your existing designs are good.
Could you share a little more about your design process? I see you are following the classic method of making a half model and mirroring it. How do you decide how many segments to divide the curved surfaces into? What process do you follow to create the complex curves of the wings? What do you do to export the unfold of the model and import it into Inkscape for texturing? How do you find Inkscape as a texturing program as opposed to Photoshop, GIMP or Paint.NET if you've used those?

Regarding the curved surfaces, i try to do a half and half between simple and complex, i draw lines before hand to see how i can replicate the curves in low poly. For the wings i try to find an accurate airfoil for the route and use the push pull feature and the scale to line the shape up with the blueprint. For this model i exported it into layout and then to inkscape. I've never tried any of the bitmap graphic softwares, inkscape was the first software i tried and i never wanted to make the change. Hope this answered your questions Harry |

Thanks, it was helpful. I wondered if that might be how you did wings. I did not realise that there was a method to get the flat parts into Inkscape that way as had always used Pepakura.

There's multiple ways, i never got along with pepakura, the unfold tool i use called flattery has a save feature which allows me to save a an SVG, this model was the second time using layout, it has a lot more features which are handy for scale and orientation.
