I saw the Ar196 @ Willow Grove in the early 70's. In 1995 it went to the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, FL. It was damaged in transit and was placed in storage in Pensacola.

In Dec 2012 it was sent to the German Navy's 3rd Naval Air Wing in Nordholz, Germany for restoration and eventual display in their "Aeronauticum" museum. Check the web for Ar196 Nordholz. From the photos there appears to be "Some Assembly Required".

- Arado Ar-234 B-1 Blitz (Luftwaffe, 1/(F)123, Hptm. Hans Felde, Schwäbisch Hall AB, February 1945)
- Arado Ar-234 B-2 Blitz (Luftwaffe, III/KG 76, Mjr. Hans-Georg Bätcher, Burg AB, January 1945)
- Arado Ar-234 B-2 Blitz (Luftwaffe, Stab/KG 76, Obstlt. Rober Kowalewski, Achmer AB, attack on Luddendorf Brücke, Remagen, March 1945)
- Arado Ar-234 B-2N Nachtigall (Luftwaffe, Kommando Bonow, Hptm. Josef Bisping-Hptm. Albert Vogel, Oranienburg AB, February 1945)
- Arado Ar-234 B-2N Nachtigall (Luftwaffe, Kommando Bonow, Lt. Kurt Bonow-Fdw Bepp Marchetti, Oranienburg AB, March 1945)

The Ar-234 is such a fascinating bird. Any chance of "captured" markings?

I'm afraid I won't be doing that. I'm not too keen on these disposable planes. Something else is the case when a looted aircraft is included in the armament by another country, then I will do the model in some cases. I'd rather do another type.

I didn't know anything about them for a long time either. There were also only a few of them (less than 10, maybe only 5) and their operation was still only a trial run (albeit in sharp combat and with their own losses).

Gotcha. I just like the story of the Watson's Whizzers.
