Sign me up! its great to see some KuK aircraft being done. There were many interesting LLoyd, Aviatik, Phonix, Lohner and othe designs, and very few models. Nice work, Alcides.

SJPONeill , Paperwarrior , Wyvern thanks for your appreciation, This is good to continue.

Billy thanks , and well you can always found an X-plane not modeled in paper, so why not try it?

Fred thanks and you're right. I didn't notice but not a lot of Kuk planes out there: a couple of Aviatiks, Phonix and not a lot more. For example I can't find any paper model of a Lloyd. Interesting, maybe future projects .

Well seems the fuselage is taking shape. Some formers cut and added. I'm taking note of some little modifications to the final model.

Alcides, do you think you can apply the tricks in Roman's book also on some more 'modern' stuff ?
WW1 planes are not exactly my cup of tea, but I would like to do a
X-2 or something like that...

Billy

I think you can adapt the techniques to any subject. I've myself try to design a more modern plane sometime ago:
Pulqui II ( Kurt Tank design) in development - Zealot Hobby Forum
but the Roman's book give me a very good idea of steps necessary to finish the project.

Of course I recommend you take at least the tutorials for your 3d tool because you're going always to need modify some things.

Another point to take in account is you're going to expend the same time or more in the 2d tool to finish the model. When you finish to model the subject in the 3d program you're far from the end.

BTW: I'm coming back to the Pulqui soon.

Nice job Alcides!! That must have been an interesting plane to fly, looking over the top wing like that. A great unique subject.

Looking good!

As does (did?) the Pulqui II. I look forward to *both* of your designs!

Hi, I'm back

Sadly a lot of things get in my way to finish this one, but it continues taking shape, after some corrections.

Fuselage on place with formers for the low wings and the tail too.

Lloyd 40.16 Austro-Hungarian 1/50 WW1 Prototype-alpha_11.jpg

some work in the "struts" :D

Lloyd 40.16 Austro-Hungarian 1/50 WW1 Prototype-alpha_10.jpg

another side of design a model: you've to do a lot of work in the layout and instructions. This is finished except some small details:

Lloyd 40.16 Austro-Hungarian 1/50 WW1 Prototype-lloyd_4016_14_1.jpgLloyd 40.16 Austro-Hungarian 1/50 WW1 Prototype-lloyd_4016_14_2.jpgLloyd 40.16 Austro-Hungarian 1/50 WW1 Prototype-lloyd_4016_14_3.jpg

Now, I hope to put soon then next pictures in the alpha build.

Regards
Alcides
