Thompson M1A1

OK, so nothing has come of the 1:8 Scale Ferrari yet, just been too busy, but in the meantime im back to designing paper guns at work. This is actually the 2nd one ive designed in the last 5 months or so, havnt quite finished the other one, which is the first pistol Ive made. This will be the 4th rifle, but only the first ive made into a kit.

The model in these pics was made totally from scratch with naught but a ruler and google images, while i was at work. Ill be modeling it in 3ds max to convert it to a paper model, a tecnique which has worked very well so far on the pistol design. Ill post progress pics as I go.

The Magazine is removable, and the bolt functions via rubber band.

Also, here is the pistol as a teaser, eventually ill finish it as well.
YouTube - Updated paper gun, redesigned in 3d

Enjoy.

Nice video on the pistol. With some colour it would be hard to tell from the real thing I'm sure. Very well done mate.

Cheers

Ok an update on model progress, most of the upper and lower receiver are done, as well as part of the bolt. the cylinders wont be parts, i will describe my technique for making them, or you can use whatever works best for you.
